It is more important now than ever that access to healthcare resources is available to every person. This month we want to shine light on the Asian Women for Health (AWFH) non-profit organization based in Massachusetts. Founded by breast cancer survivor Chien-Chi Huang, AWFH focuses on education, advocation, and reciprocation for the Asian community.

In case you didn’t know: members of the Asian community are less likely to be screened for cancer than members of other backgrounds. Interested in educating yourself on some additional facts and figures?
While it may be difficult to determine one primary reason for under screening, AWFH is focusing on community solutions and outreach programs.

Between providing free breast and cervical cancer workshops and mental health resources to mentorship programs and breaking language barriers in the medical world, it’s safe to say this wonderful initiative isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
The annual signature fundraiser event, CelebrASIANS Fashion Show, will be a virtual event this year on Saturday, November 13, 2021.
The goal of the event is to celebrate the strength and resilience of Asian cancer survivors and their families. The models themselves are cancer survivors and the clothing worn promotes Asian designers.
Here’s a few photos from previous CelebrASIANS Fashion Shows:
Some of the events that have already taken place over the past few months include the 12th Asian American Mental Health Forum and the 9th State of Asian Women’s Health Conference.
