Massachusetts Fireworks: Where to Celebrate July 4th

Covid might’ve cancelled 2020 but freedom will ring across Massachusetts this year. From Amesbury to Worcester, we’ve rounded up a list of places around Massachusetts hosting fireworks displays! While most shows are scheduled for Sunday, July 4 we’ve included a few exhibitions taking place between June 30 and July 10. 

Wednesday, June 30

Somerville

Head to Trum Field for a 9:15pm fireworks display.

Thursday, July 1

Mashpee

A low-key fireworks show will take place at Mashpee Middle-High School around 9:00pm.

Friday, July 2

Everett

Food, games, and fireworks await at Everett’s Annual 4th of July Celebration. Fireworks will begin at 9:30pm from Glendale Park.

Foxborough

Live entertainment and a fireworks finale at 9:00pm await at Patriot Place this Friday, July 2.

Haverhill

A no food or frills fireworks display will take place at 9:15pm at Riverside Park.

Ipswich

Head to Turner Hill Golf Club for a 9:00pm pyrotechnics show.

Lexington

Check out the show from the Lexington High School Baseball Field at 9:30pm.

Worcester

Home to the Woo Sox, Polar Park Stadium is slated for three consecutive days of patriotic fireworks. Buy your game tickets here.

Saturday, July 3

Boston Harborfest

Head down to Boston’s Long Wharf for the 9:00pm fireworks display on Saturday, July 3 hosted by Harborfest Fireworks

East Longmeadow

Hosting what’s likely to be the largest Independence parade in the Northeast, East Longmeadow High School couldn’t resist scheduling fireworks. Pyrotechnics will commence around 9:30pm after a free concert performance. 

Gloucester

Visitors to Stage Fort Park can watch the sky light up at 9:30pm.

Worcester

Home to the Woo Sox, Polar Park Stadium is slated for three consecutive days of patriotic fireworks. Buy your game tickets here.

Sunday, July 4

Amesbury

4th of July fireworks event will take place at Woodsom Farm between 7:00pm and 10:00pm.

Barnstable 

Independence Day in Barnstable is jam-packed with family-friendly events all day. The pyrotechnics are scheduled for 9:00pm and will be launched from a barge at Lewis Bay (Hyannis Harbor). Free public parking is available throughout various lots for up to six hours. More information on Barnstable’s July 4th events here and here.

Boston Common

Instead of fireworks over the Charles, the Boston Common is the place to be on July 4. The show starts at 10:30pm

Bridgewater 

Thanks to last minute donations, Bridgewater will host an all-day Independence Day event this year. Events include a parade, arts and crafts fair, and a carnival. The fireworks finale will take place at Legion Field at 9:30pm.

Quincy

Launching from a barge in Town River Bay, fireworks will be viewable around 9:15pm from North Weymouth, Germantown, and Quincy Point to name a few.

Springfield

Star Spangled Springfield is back again for an evening of music, family-friendly entertainment, and a fireworks display nightcap. The event begins at 6:00pm with fireworks expected towards 9:30pm.

Waltham

Head to Prospect Park for daytime events followed by fireworks at Leary Field starting around 9:00pm.

Worcester

Monday, July 5

Plymouth

Pilgrim Memorial State Park will host a fireworks spectacular beginning at 9:00pm. Parking is limited.

Saturday, July 10

Orleans

Whether you’re happily celebrating a belated 4th of July or you can’t get enough fireworks, head to Orleans‘ Rock Harbor Beach at 9:00pm for a spectacular show.
