Opening Day Is Around The Corner: Boston Red Sox

I think it is safe to say, baseball season is upon us. The equipment truck made its way to Fort Myer’s, Florida yesterday. Here’s a small list of what they brought:

20,000-Baseballs

1,100-Bats

400-Pairs Of Socks

20-Cases Of Bubblegum

60-Cases Of Sunflower Seeds

Now that is a lot of equipment! Spring training will kick off in about 3 weeks (February 22nd) where the Boston Red Sox will host the Tampa Bay Rays in a day game.

The Boston Red Sox still have not determined who will be the new manager but there have been a few names tossed around. Come Spring Training you have to imagine someone will eventually be named.

Through the off season some changes have been made between Cora and the Boston Red Sox organization splitting ways, and the team trying to land Mookie Betts. Some other major events that have occurred was Signing Mitch Moreland to a one year deal, along with Jackie Bradley Jr, Heath Hembree, and Brandon Workman to avoid arbitration.

Some new faces have made their way to the team as Kyle Plawecki was cut loose from the Cleveland Indians and signed for a one year deal. Along with Plawecki the Red Sox have also signed Austin Brice (Traded from Marlins) and Jeffrey Springs (Traded from Rangers).
